T-Drill prototypes and custom port locations

Need one T-Drilled part, or a run with ports in unusual places? Our process is manual, not high-volume production, and it's built for prototypes, one-offs and specialized port locations. Quotes come back within one business day.

A manual process for prototypes and short runs

Our T-Drill collars are made manually: each collar is laid out from your drawing, pulled, faced and checked by hand. This is not a high-volume, high-production process. It's suited to:

  • Single prototypes and small validation batches.
  • Design revisions. Move a port and send a new drawing.
  • Low-to-medium production runs of an approved part.

Specialized port locations

Each collar is positioned individually from your drawing, including:

  • Non-uniform spacing along the run
  • Different clock orientations on the same tube
  • Mixed collar sizes, 5/8" to 2", on one run tube
  • One-of-a-kind sensor port positions for test rigs and validation builds

If a location is too close to a tube end or to another collar, we'll say so in the quote and suggest the nearest position that works.

Questions

Prototype FAQ

Do you make T-Drill prototypes and single pieces?

Yes. We regularly build single prototype pieces and small batches so you can prove out a design, then make the same part at production quantity once it's approved.

Is this a manual or high-volume production process?

It's a manual process. Each collar is laid out from your drawing, pulled, faced and checked by hand. We are not a high-volume, high-production shop. The work suits prototypes, one-off parts, specialized port locations and low-to-medium production runs.

Can you put ports in unusual or tightly specified locations?

Yes. Custom spacing, mixed branch sizes on one run, different clock orientations and one-of-a-kind sensor port locations are all laid out individually from your drawing. If a location is too close to a tube end or another collar, we'll tell you in the quote and suggest the nearest workable position.

How fast can you turn around a T-Drill collar order?

You'll get a price and lead time within one business day of sending your specs. Prototypes and small runs are typically turned around fast. The exact lead time depends on quantity, tube supply and current shop load and is stated in your quote.

What do you need to quote a T-Drill collar job?

Run tube OD and wall thickness, stainless grade, collar size, collar locations and orientations, collars per tube, tube quantity and when you need it. A drawing (PDF, STEP, DXF or DWG) gives the fastest, most accurate quote.

Need T-Drill collars on stainless tube?

Send a prototype drawing, even a sketch with dimensions, and get a price and lead time within one business day.
